We all know who Peter Pan is — he is a mischievous kid who can fly and never grows up. But do you know the whole story of how he became friends with Wendy, John, and Michael, who is Tinker Bell and why does Captain Hook hate them all?
This Disney Classics’ Peter Pan takes you on Peter’s first adventure with the Darling kids and also provides the back story to all Peter Pan characters, including Tick Tock Croc, Mr Smee and others.
This book begins with an introduction of the Darlings — both parents and kids — and why Peter Pan pays them a visit one night, after Mr Darling had enough of their childish behaviour. The introduction in simple language makes you want to find out more, leading you to Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, etc. How Captain Hook manages to capture these kids along with The Lost Boys and how Peter Pan rescues them
all, that is just one part of the story. There are other subplots that you would find interesting because they are linked with each other.
However, the illustrations in the book are the highlight here. Each and every character reminds you of the animated series featuring the adventures of Peter Pan. While the kids fly around Big Ben, Neverland and over Captain Hook’s ship, the pictures take you along the ride. Even when they reach Neverland and Peter sends Wendy with Tinker Bell, that mishap is documented well with images.
Moreover, it is through these pictures (and narration) that you realise that Tinker Bell was just angry because when she realised her mistake, she did everything in her power to save her friends.
Try a little pixie dust if you want to experience a trip to Neverland with Peter Pan; you will not
be alone in this journey. You will encounter mermaids, Indians and of course pirates but out of every adventure, team Peter Pan manages to emerge as victorious, every time.
Go ahead and fly into the unknown and spend time in a land where kids never grow up, and follow their fearless leader no matter what!
