You may have seen him dismiss the best batsmen in the world, but Shoaib Akhtar now seems to be on another journey, one that takes any Muslim closer to Allah. What better way to show the new side of the Rawalpindi Express than be a part of a Video that reminds you of the Prophet Mohammad’s teachings and Sunnah.

Joining hands with Mezan Group – the makers of Mezan Cooking Oil, Tea and Cola Next brand – Shoaib Akhtar delivered a masterstroke which was strengthened with the choice of Shiraz Uppal as the Naat Khawan. Rawalpindi Express’s appearance in the video reminds one of his playing days; he always came to deliver the goods when the stage was set, raising the bar every time with his performance.

Not many know of Shoaib Akhtar’s spiritual journey that has completely changed him from an attacking fast bowler to a humble human being who wants to help those who can’t help themselves. He is not just a celebrity, a face that can sell any product but a spiritually-charged sportsman who feels that life is short, and should be spent spreading love. That’s what made him the perfect candidate for this video that has gone viral in no time.

The Naat features the Fastest Bowler in the world but he doesn’t bowl well-directed toe-crushing Yorkers or Bouncers; instead he spreads love and preaches that sharing is caring. Be it helping a young boy who chose to donate his money than buying a tennis ball, or giving his shawl to an old man who tore his to help an injured animal, Shoaib Akhtar shows how important it is to be there for the people who do good.

Add to that Shiraz Uppal’s vocals and composition and you are sure to get Goosebumps before the vocalist delivers the Darood Sharif with the conviction of a guy who loves his Prophet Peace Be Upon Him. Having Shoaib Akhtar on the front and Shiraz Uppal as the vocalist is a praise worthy decision considering they both have served Pakistan to the best of their abilities and continue to do so even after two decades.

One must point out that during the Holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world in general and Pakistanis in particular, turn over a new leaf and display harmony like never before. Shoaib Akhtar’s appearance here is a symbol of that unity and harmony, where he combines both the young and the old, the rich and the poor, and those in need with those who can help them. Watching it for the first time will make you want to be a better man, watching it more than once will turn you teary-eyed. May Allah give us the chance to shine in His eyes this Holy month and spread love like Shoaib Akhtar did in this video.
