Top five of Waheed Murad’s evergreen movies

Pakistan’s legendary actor Waheed Murad passed away on November 23, 1983, and today marks Pakistan’s chocolate hero’s 38th death anniversary.

Born on October 2, 1938, Murad debuted with the movie Aulad in 1962 as a supporting actor.

The versatile actor ruled Lollywood for years with his stunning acting skills and charming personality and here goes the list of his five movies of all times.


Armaan:

A black and white Pakistani movie featuring Waheed Murad alongside Zeba who played the role of an underprivileged girl ‘Najma’.

The movie broke several records at the Box Office and was the first Platinum Jubilee in Pakistan’s cinema history.

Doraha:

A classic romantic and melodious movie starring Murad and actress Shamim Ara, though was not an instant hit, gained popularity several years after its release.

The film was also a big hit in Dhaka and other parts of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

Heera Aur Pathar:

Waheed’s debut movie Heera Aur Pathar was a hit that garnered him Nigar Award for best actor.

He played the role of a donkey cart owner alongside actress Zeba.

Andaleeb:

The movie that was released in 1969 was a golden jubilee hit. Murad showed his acting skills with actress Shabnam in Andaleeb.

Mastana Mahi:

This was Waheed’s first Punjabi language movie that earned him Nigar Award for best actor.

Murad worked in the movie with actress Naghmana.

Nearly 27 years after his death, the star was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions in the field of arts and literature.
